The Duke of Marlborough
NEW: WEEKEND TAKEAWAY : Menu HERE.
The Duke of Marlborough is a community-owned pub just 10-15mins outside central Ipswich. It is a beautiful, beamed, ancient inn, with garden terrace, log fires and many lovely walks you can enjoy from the car park. Bought in 2017 by a community of over 250 wonderful people, the Duke is run by Aaron and April Douglas and their dedicated team from whom you can expect a warm welcome. The staff are supported by a community management group and other volunteers – together proud to have a community pub with a very professional face!
The Duke is currently open from Wednesday to Sunday, on a temporarily reduced service basis, to tide us through what is proving to be a tough winter. Customer confidence and behaviour has not yet returned to pre-pandemic levels and times for pubs remain challenging. Love pubs? Make sure you use your favourites in 2022 or they might not be there this time next year!
Over the winter, you can look forward to a short but tasty blackboard menu of British pub favourites on Fridays and Saturdays, with full Sunday roast options on Sundays 12-4pm. We always have a veggie/vegan options and offer many of our dishes gluten free. We will also be trialing takeaway meals (and beer!) from January 2022, see link above for menu.
We are family and dog friendly and are proud to be a real ale pub. There are usually have two or three cask ales on tap, in addition to our range of keg beers and ciders.
Booking is advisable but not essential. Please call the pub on 01473 831283 (not always staffed outside opening hrs) or email: email@example.com. Any questions? Just get in touch, we’ll be happy to help.
