The Duke of Marlborough
The Duke of Marlborough is a community owned pub just 10-15mins outside central Ipswich. Bought in 2017 by a community of over 250 wonderful people, it is now run by Aaron and April Douglas and their dedicated team of paid staff and community volunteers, from whom you can expect a warm welcome.
The Duke is currently open from Thursday to Sunday serving freshly cooked meals – British classics plus other dishes from around the world – Mexican, Italian, Moroccan and French. Fresh fish and pasta dishes, stacked burgers and fish n chips, fresh summer salads, tagines and curries. We always have vegan options and offer many of our dishes gluten free. Dishes change on a weekly basis.
We are a real ale pub and usually have two or three cask ales on tap, in addition to our range of keg beers and ciders. We are family friendly and dog friendly and the valley has many lovely walks you can enjoy from the car park.
Currently, as restrictions lift, you may sit outside in our garden or marquee in groups of no more than 30. Indoors, a mix of 6 people from different household or two households or any size may sit together. COVID 19 precautions are taken seriously, so please bring your mask for the times when you are indoors, but not sitting at your table. We offer a safe and comfortable experience at the Duke with well spaced tables, table service, staff wearing masks or visors and plenty of sanitiser around for you to use.
Booking is advisable but not essential. It helps if you book, just so we can manage numbers and can stagger arrival times for reasons. Please call the pub on 01473 831283 (not always staffed outside opening hrs) or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Any questions? Just get in touch, we’ll be happy to help.
We look forward to seeing you – your community pub needs your support more than ever!
