The Duke of Marlborough is open!

With Saturday breakfasts (fortnightly), lunches, suppers, quizzes and outdoor live music happening, there’s something for everyone at the Duke this Autumn (despite the restrictions).   Tables of up to 6 from mixed households are welcomed.   You will need a facemask for some inside areas, when not eating, but if you sit outside you don’t need a mask at present.

Please check opening hours carefully as they are subject to change at short notice in these challenging times.  Our social media feeds are also a good way to get an update on what’s going on week to week.

Customers have the option of sitting outside in our heated marquees, or you may sit indoors now the weather is getting chillier.  We offer a safe and comfortable experience at the Duke with well spaced tables, table service, staff wearing masks or visors and plenty of sanitiser around for you to use.

Booking is advisable but not essential, for both eating and drinking.  It helps if you book, just so we can manage numbers and can stagger arrival times for safety reasons.  Please call the pub on 01473 831283 or email: enquiries@thedukeofmarlborough.com.  Any questions?  Just get in touch, we’ll be happy to help.

A freshly cooked menu is being served, with usually 5 or 6 main courses on offer, all cooked to order.  Pizzas are always on offer.  The menu features your old favourites plus changing specials each week including steaks, seafood and paella.  There is generally always a vegan option too and we offer gluten free options as standard.

We are planning (seated) events for Halloween and Christmas  although we recognise that certainty on anything is hard to come by these days!

We look forward to seeing you – your community pub needs your support more than ever.

Great live music again this weekend! We welcome back two Duke regulars - the infamous ASDDBB on Saturday night, and Cold Town on Sunday afternoon (previously known as End Notes).

Wondering what to do with the kids over half term? We have two ideas!

1. Somersham has a Halloween trail!
Buy a map from us or from the shop (£1.50 - all proceeds to Somersham School. Check opening hours) and walk round the village spotting a picture at each participating house. Tick them all off to win a treat!
Of course, as with everything, please keep socially distanced from our residents and have groups of 6 or less. Dressing up optional but always encouraged!

2. And/or take part in our pumpkin carving competition - details below. You can win a voucher to spend at the Duke!

Lots of Halloween fun planned at the Duke for Saturday too. Watch out for upcoming details.

NEW!

Tomorrow 6 to 7pm is HAPPY HOUR!

But it's no secret that things aren't very happy in the hospitality sector right now.

Along with other pubs and restaurants, The Duke of Marlborough is finding it a challenge to get enough footfall to keep staff in their jobs and the doors open.

Our staff need your support now and in the coming months like never before. It's fairly simple, if you want us to still be here this time next year, your custom is ESSENTIAL!

WHEREVER YOU LIVE, SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL WHILE YOU STILL HAVE ONE!
